Aerial Photography
Information for 2007:
This is the second year I
have focused exclusively on high quality digital photography. The quality of the digital
camera equipment is now so good, standard 8 X 12 prints will produce results
with the same quality that film ever did (maybe even a little better). This allows for significantly greater
flexibility and increased photos captured, which allows for more chances to
capture the perfect shot. Also digital has the advantage of being able to be
worked in an enhancement program before going to print. I also carry a laptop for photo downloads and delivery of
the photos anywhere instantly. Real estate people, insurance companies, law
firms, website developers and project managers will like this instant service
when time is important. Although my main camera setup is now high-end digital
equipment, I will still shoot 35mm film as backup or when requested.
I take a minimum of 30
photos of the subject property from different altitudes and perspectives.
Every aerial shoot I do will guarantee you several high quality photos of
the subject property.
About the process:
These days because
of
computers and high speed Internet connections most of the aerial shoots I have
done in the last couple of years have taken place without ever having an actual
meeting with my clients. Every detail including my payment can be done
through email, phone conversations, money transfers and PayPal. It is an effortless process and
usually within 2 or 3 phone conversations our deal is done. Once I have taken
your photos I contact you and email a few digital samples. Once our deal is
complete I release the batch of digital photos in their full format and size
through FTP access. You can then use the photos any way you wish.
I have clients as far away as Orlando Florida, Decatur Illinois, Seattle, Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver
Island that I never met in person.
It can be just that easy!

No other type of picture makes
people stop and look more than an aerial.
A bird's eye view is just simply not available to very many people, and
even when shown an aerial picture of their own home, many have to look
twice to recognize what it is they are seeing. Aerial photos can become
priceless and often are. Older aerial photos often become so valuable they
end up in local museums. Think back to some time when you were able to
view an aerial photo of your home town that was taken 50 or 75 years ago,
or even 15 years ago. The aerial photo poster of Vancouver British Columbia
taken in 1986 for Expo year is a couple of decades old, and now is
considered a collectors item. For those of you that know Vancouver BC from
long ago, I have an aerial photo I took back in 1976. It shows the old
Empire Stadium before it was torn down. It also shows the False Creek Expo
'86 site as the heavy industrial area that it was. Almost everyone takes
pictures of their cars, boats, and of course their home and property. An
aerial photo of your home, property or business will be valuable to you.
Some examples
of aerial photography Use:
Website Design:
Using
aerial photos of your business in your company website portrays a serious
professional presence. Not many website owners have taken the initiative to
add an aerial view. Large auto or RV dealers find an aerial the only way to
show the size of their operations.
Real
Estate Sales:
Nothing
features a waterfront property or cottage on a bluff better than an aerial
from over the water, or looking down on the setting from a 45 degree angle. Acreages
from the air, show a map of the property that is priceless when deciding
building location and general land use. Proposed subdivisions can't be
without an aerial to show everyone, from planning departments to bankers.
Law Firms and
Insurance Companies:
An aerial overview of an
accident site gives a clear perspective of curves in the road or other
hazards not easily identifiable from the ground. Litigation over land use
and property encroachment, an overview can make these issues easy to
identify.
Timber Stands:
Virtually no
better way to show potential logging contractors or log buyers the type of
timber or the density.
Large
Construction Projects:
As a progressive series of photos to track the progress from the foundation,
to completion. These can be priceless at the end of large project.
RV
Parks and Campgrounds:
Enlargement
of a RV Park aerial photo in the front office is the best way to show the
sites available and how to get around in the park.
Ranches
and Farms:
Cattle
herds or grain farms, and anything in between. The view from the air is a
record of the on-going business. Many Ranchers get an update aerial photo
every year.
Golf
Courses - Fish Farms - Ski Resorts - Wineries.
Almost everyone with a business or a property will find a valuable use for
an Aerial Photo.
